Hear No EvilWhat do you say about yourself? I drew a blank when it came to this page, so I posed the question to a few coworkers. One of them piped up and said, “Can I write the about you page?” Here’s what she came up with (my comments are in parenthesis after hers):

I am a weird and crazy girl. (Maybe I am. So what's your point?) My theme song is "Evil Woman" (She gave me that song, I prefer “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks.) and when I close my eyes, YOU don’t exist. (Well you don’t!)

I torment all who turn in expense reports (hey, it's my job!), and fear nothing (spiders actually). I am crazy about Star Trek and yes, I go to Trekkie conventions. (Oh, okay - that bit is true.)

Patrick Stuart is sexy. (He is.)

I am also crazy about Viggo Mortenson.......Aragorn.....grrrrrrrrr! Come slammin' my through my door at any time. (Um, hello! I have a pulse.)

See No EvilComing Soon! How the Sheriff’s Department allowed me into their training without a background check, and why YOU should be frightened. (They did check. I passed. Don't sweat it.)

She forgot to mention that I've always wanted to be a cartoon superhero!

Other than the above true confessions – I really did write my first book in second grade. No, it wasn’t great but I was eight, I don’t feel bad.

Around thirteen years old, I turned into Sylvia Plath Junior (don’t all teenage girls?). Poetry full of teenaged angst flowed free. Poetry from a teen is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I did win the McDonald’s® High School Writers award for my story that was published in the High School Writer. No, I won’t tell you the year, so don’t ask.

Speak No EvilA few years ago, I got serious about my book length fiction. I’ve written two romances, Witch of the Woods and Love’s Justice and three mysteries, which are part of a series I’ve created, A Grand Murder, Lake People, and Murder is a Family Affair.

A Grand Murder is the manuscript that won third place in the Kiss of Death’s Daphne du Maurier contest, an accomplishment of which I am very proud.

Best wishes ~ Stacy

PS - If you care, I live in Minnesota with my husband, 2 cats, and a dog.
